Since announcing the partnership between Insightful Player and the NFL Players Association, I’ve been asked the question, “What does it take to be an Insightful Player?” dozens of times. You might be wondering, “Who are Insightful Players?” Or even more importantly, “How can you become an Insightful Player?” The truth is, you don’t need to be an all-star quarterback or World Series MVP to be an Insightful Player. If you’re asking any of these questions then you’re already on the right path to becoming one. That’s because one of the key aspects of becoming an Insightful Player is the constant desire to improve yourself and those around you.
Insightful Players are driven to succeed and help others succeed. In order to do this, they must respect others and work with them for a greater good. No one works alone, whether it’s at work, school, or sports; so individual success means nothing if you’re success doesn’t help the team succeed. Ask yourself “How can I make a positive impact on someone’s life today?” every day. When you help those around you, they’ll be more likely to help you too. That’s where success comes from and that’s what being an Insightful Player is all about.
It’s no longer good enough to be the best at what you do. In order to be successful and be an Insightful Player, you have to help others become the best they can be as well. That’s something that Pro Bowl football players, high school athletes, CEO’s, and Honor Roll students all have in common.
Until next time,
