Being Montells' high school football coach, I can honestly say after coaching for forty-three years I have never had a harder working and more dedicated team player.

May Montell stay healthy and strong so he can influence all the people he comes in contact. God bless,
George K

Having not yet read in its entirety the full description of how this initiative works, I can only hope there will be a spotlight on network television which will bring it to the attention of the many who are not equipped with internet. This is much too important an endeavor to be left to accidental discovery, as was the case for me.

[...] “I think that the reason that I made it, and some of my other friends who are by far better athletes than I am, didn’t, is choices—choices that I made and things that I did to stay on the straight and narrow. That’s the reason that I’m able to have a career in NFL. Some of my friends did not make good choices, which led them to jail, or not doing as good in school as they needed to, or other things that might have held them back. Sometimes it comes down to those simple choices that make the difference in the direction that your life takes.” Billy is grateful for his Dad’s constant reminders that his life will be better. This gave Billy confidence and helped him develop the inner strength and insight to make the right choices. To read more click here ==> http://www.theinsightfulplayer.com/2010/03/10/billy-miller/ [...]

[...] Reggie is committed to a life of learning and growing. He is the first to admit that he has a lot of room for growth. Out because of his injury in the 2009 season, he worked on becoming more patient. Sometimes he found it hard to be on the sidelines rather than on the field because of his injury. He became antsy and wanted to be out on the field. He reminded himself to calm down, relax and let the healing process take its time; let the rehab process get him in the right position to perform for the upcoming year. He knew that in due time this would pass and God would bring new opportunities his way. To read more click here ==> http://www.theinsightfulplayer.com/2010/03/10/reggie-kelly/ [...]

[...] “Whatever is in our heart comes out in our actions,” said Aaron, who recently completed a graduate studies certificate program through the Dallas Theological Seminary. “There is a Bible passage that says ‘out of the overflow of our heart, the mouth speaks.’ We all wear masks, each and every one of us, but when push comes to shove, who we really are in the difficult times, reveals what’s inside.” The particulars of professional football accelerate this process. “If you’re about yourself, if you’re about money, if you’re about fame and power for yourself, then you will be revealed for that. But if you have values of teamwork and if you’re others centered, that will show up. Our outward actions are responses to what is in our heart. Whenever we look up in the sky and we see all the stars and we see all this creation, we know that we’re not here by ourselves. How did all this get here? Why are we here? I think it’s an embracing of the understanding that there is a Creator and He does want to have a relationship with us.” Click here to read more ==> http://www.theinsightfulplayer.com/player-stories/aaron-kampman-2/ [...]

[...] Over the years, he developed plenty of coping strategies, he said. “I just found that rather than moan and groan and complain about things, it was a much better approach to just go out every day and practice and have fun. Whatever the coach asks you to do, do it to the best of your ability. Then, no matter what happens, you’ve got nothing to be ashamed of. Sometimes it will work out, sometimes it won’t. But if you start complaining and feeling sorry for yourself, then more often than not, you’re not going to get another chance.” Click here to read more ==> http://www.theinsightfulplayer.com/2010/11/15/steve_grogan/ [...]

[...] The biggest blow came in the form of a broken leg soon after he was signed with the Bears. For an athlete who had already suffered an unusually high number of serious injuries, this one could easily have crushed the hopes of a less determined spirit. But not Antonio. The awareness that a string of injuries like his could permanently dent the reputation of a rising sports star only made him determined to come back better than ever.
[...] Sometimes Jason finds himself very frustrated, when he sees other people who have tremendous potential but waste it away. He reminds them of the parable of the ant and the grasshopper. The ant spends the summer working hard, preparing for winter, while the grasshopper plays all summer, making fun of the ant. But when winter comes, the ant has everything he needs while the grasshopper has nothing and goes hungry. Many kids who spend their teen years succumbing to peer pressure get to adulthood and find themselves hit hard by the real world, like grasshoppers in winter. He hopes to inspire more kids to act like ants, rather than grasshoppers. Read his story here. http://www.theinsightfulplayer.com/2010/03/10/jason-brown/ [...]

[...] It is Tony Dungy to whom Rocky Boiman attributes one of his leading moral values. “When the chips are down and everything is against you, the only thing you really have in life, besides your loved ones, is your character and how you live your life. Tony Dungy would always say that character and integrity are non-negotiable, 24/7 obligations. You can’t practice them one day and then put them aside another day. When times are tough, that’s when you really have to stick to those character issues, as hard as it may be. There may be an easier way out of a situation, but you have to say nope, I’m going to stick to my guns here. I’m going to do it the right way. I believe you’ll be rewarded in the future.” http://www.theinsightfulplayer.com/2010/06/11/rocky-boiman/ [...]

Thanks so much, Coach Carew and Rashied, for sharing this powerful and eloquent reminder of the power that lives within all of us.

In these turbulent times, when so many are filled with fear because the world around them seems less supportive these days, Rashied reminds us to choose for ourselves what we want our lives to be, and to invite Divine assistance along the way.

Blessings to both of you for making these stories available. While the content of the stories is powerful, it is your Light - and your willingness to share it - that touch me most deeply.

With gratitude,
Lyn Allen

Steve Grogan and my son Mike played together in 1955-1956 when we lived in Ottawa, Kansas. They had such fun playing on our swingset, playing in the snow and being buddies. Steve comes from a very exceptional family filled with love. I love the article you wrote when you interviewed him. He Has done so well for himself. He has such character and kindness in him. I told my son Mike how Steve called me. He said, "please send any emails you receive from their family to me." He said, "you watched Steve play didn't you?" My answer was of course. He said, we sure watched him play. He was such an exceptional player. I just wish sometime in the future Mike and Steve could meet again. I told Steve they will have to wear nametags as they have changed a little bit. Sincerely, Patty Jenks

They had such fun playing on our swingset, playing in the snow and being buddies. Steve comes from a very exceptional family filled with love. I love the article you wrote when you interviewed him. He Has done so well for himself. He has such character and kindness in him. I told my son Mike how Steve called me. He said, “please send any emails you receive from their family to me.” He said, “you watched Steve play didn’t you?” My answer was of course. He said, we sure watched him play. He was such an exceptional player. I just wish sometime in the future Mike and Steve could meet again. I told Steve they will have to wear nametags as they have changed a little bit. Sincerely, Patty Jenks

Thank you for this website. It gives us followers of Jesus a place to express to the world the Love of God=JESUS THE ONLY SON OF GOD.Many have challenged me to this statement. My answer to them is read the BIBLE start in the book of John(new testament) with an open mind and heart and as you go along ask Jesus to show Himself to you and he will because he said he would.People would say,"He died." and I would say,"no,He lives. You live where you make your choice while you are on this Earth=heaven or Hell. You do not believe there is no Heaven or hell? Then there is no prisons/jails(BREAK THE LAW) nor disney land, beaches to go,mountains to see(keep the law). Many religions, but ONE FAITH-WHO?IS JESUS A LIAR OR TRULY THE THRUTH,THE WAY AND THE LIFE TO THE FATHER(GOD).CHECK IT OUT,I DID AND IAM GLAD.LOVE YOU ALL.

Jesus said ,You shall know them by your love."I appreciated your life story Usama.I was once one of the best swimmer in latin America(Panama C.A.)I had religion, but not Faith in God or know who God was until March 15th 1971 in a Baptist Church at Balboa Panama Canal. Before that I was a lost person as a a man doing all kinds of sin, divorced lost 3 children, but that day,I heard for the first time in my life by Pastor Hester from Texas,Jesus (Yashua)said,"IAM THE WAY,THE THRUTH AND THE LIFE AND NO MAN COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME."Raised religiously and no knowledge of the Bible,I was a lost person and heading to hell. That day,I was born again thruthfully for if I was not,I would not be emailing this to you.Read the Bible 12 times and going on the 13th time and it gets better.1971-2010=39 years walking with God.have I arrived? No,but,I know who will get there because he,Jesus.made the way for me to spend forever with Him and the new world he will create(Revelation 21-22).Thank you for this opportunity to share the Love of God.

During the past five years I have had the privilege of getting to know Blaise Winter, the MAN, not the ex-NFL player. Being named to the Insightful Player team is an honor Blaise truly deserves. As a school administrator, I have personally witnessed his compassion, respect and willingness to help children. Our conversations center around his FAITH, FAMILY and COMMITMENT to inspiring youth to overcome hurdles to become the best they can be. Blaise is an inspiration to me and I am proud to have him as a true friend. Life is good when GOD & Blaise have my back covered.
